AC Milan joins Mikel chase

John Mikel Obi
Super Eagles’ midfielder, John Obi Mikel has been picked as a possible transfer target for Serie A giants, AC Milan, as the San Siro side have shown interest in the services of the Nigerian.
The San Siro outfit was rumoured to be preparing an audacious offer for the midfield rock this summer as Milan coach Clarence Seedorf is desperate to overhaul his ailing squad at the end of the season in a bid to avoid another disastrous campaign next term and he has been keeping a close watch on developments in west London.
Milan have been keeping watch over Mikel for the past few months now and Seedorf is hoping to add some more steel to his midfield by pairing him with another former Chelsea star Michael Essien.

Veteran defender, Andy Cole was linked with a move to the San Siro as he will be out of contract this summer and there have been major doubts over his long term future as he has fallen behind Cesar Azpilicueta in the pecking order and as of yet there have been no new discussions over an extension.
Blues coach Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen on keeping hold of the 33-year-old, but owner Roman Abramovic has yet to sanction a new deal leaving the England international in a state of limbo regarding his future.
