WHY OSOBA SHUNNED APC NATIONAL CONVENTION

Chief Olusegun Osoba was conspicuously absent at the maiden national convention of the All Progressives Party in Abuja last night, signalling that he was yet to accept the peace overtures by Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
The former Governor has been involved in a battle to control the structure of the party in the State with the incumbent Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun. But Governor Amosun gained the upper hand.
P.M. NEWS observed that Osoba, regarded as a chieftain of APC and almost all members of National Assembly from the State were absent at the Convention.
The former Governor recently told his supporters that he is not ready for any form of reconciliation with Amosun over the party crisis.
However, the absence of the former Governor and his loyalists did not take the shine off the Ogun pavilion at the Eagles Square venue of the Convention as the State recorded one of the highest number of delegates.
The gaily dressed delegates from Ogun State attracted attention with their drumming, dancing and singing in celebration of Amosun and derision of the Governor’s enemies.
Meanwhile, the Osoba group will meet again in Abeokuta today to consider whether they will leave the APC or take Amosun’s hand of fellowship.
