''I resign as Leader and BoT Chairman into which I was appointed in January 2014 by the National Executive Council of the Party, but was yet to be ratified by a Convention of the party as stipulated by the constitution. ''said Obi .
The Media aide, therefore confirmed the development. In his words: " If you recall, my boss was nominated the Leader of the Party and the Chairman of her Board of Trustees in January. The nomination was yet to be ratified by a Convention of the Party, when he submitted his letter of resignation. Since the convention will take place next year, people have found it convenient to blame him for the woes of the Party on the reason that he had failed to intervene on matters affecting the party, not knowing that without ratification of his nomination, he had no platform under which to intervene. "
Political washers recently pundit on the mass exodus that bedeviled APGA party recently and posit to a reactionary measure put up by the erstwhile governor to follow the trend, also to be in thesame party with his political godfather, and the president of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan for future political engagement in the country.
This would lay the long walk of rumour to rest that Chief Peter Obi has left the APGA for the PDP but only treading caution on the side of the law as well as an avenue to spend quality time to face family responsibilities.
