W.H.O Declaration: Bishop Ezeokafor Calls for Internal Vigilance Commends President Goodluck, Others

Sequel to the World Health Oganization recent declaration on Nigeria as Ebola Virus free nation, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezokafor has advised Nigerians to always maintain internal and active vigilance approach and cleaner environment even as he warned against complacency. 
Bishop Ezeokafor who gave the advice at the 7th Deanery Convention at the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) Amawbia Deanery and the N100,000.00 fund raising for the construction of Stella Maris skill acquisition centre said that active surveillance should be a collective responsibility of all and sundry.
The Catholic prelate while advocating for internal and external vigilance to ensure that W.H.O declaration was made permanent commended President Goodluck Jonathan and all stakeholders and development partners that made it possible to contain the Ebola out break in Nigeria.
He appealed that such dexterity and commitment invested in the fight against Ebola Virus Disease should be replicated in other major areas of need in the country.
Also speaking the wife of the Anambra State Governor Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano represented by the immediate Past Commissioner for Education Dr. (Mrs.) Uju Okeke who spoke on the theme of the Deanery Convention, ‘Women and Youth Empowerment Mechanism’ urged the government to set aside certain percentage of their revenue to encourage skill acquisition empowerment programme at all tiers of government, noting that it would encourage creative potency.
She however called on the public spirited individuals to follow suit in the drive to actualize the goal number I of the Millennium Development Goals poised to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger in Nigeria.
