Ngige Has No More Supporters In Anambra--Umeh

The senator representing Anambra Central in the national Assembly, Senator Dr. Chris Ngige has on Sunday, described the recent  defection of  some All Progressive Congress (APC) members to the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), as an act of a few inactive members looking for an alternative platform to  further their political pursuit.
He revealed that the leader of the group, Chief Amaechi Obidike had left the party six months before he openly declared for APGA, added that he had earlier left for the PDP with  Senator Annie Okonkwo before joining the All Progressive Grand Alliance, shorlty after he stopped functioning as the  state chairman of  the APC.

The legislature made this know in Awka, while fielding questions from journalist after a church service  to commemorate the twenty-years  wedding anniversary and child dedication of the Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Bishop Alexander Ibezim.
Senator Chris Ngige denied the allegation that APC has lost all its members to APGA in the state and described the allegation as baseless , but maintained that the party still retain it’s structures and would soon unleash its strategic plans to win next year general election for APC .
His word; ‘’The People who left APC yesterday have left more than six months ago, they are no longer members of our party,  that is Chief Obidike, who seize to be our chairman since last year, he is a baggage that is going elsewhere, even before now he was in  PDP, he left for PDP with Chief Annie Okonkwo, so he seized to be our member long ago, APC is alive here and we shall prove its alive at the right time’’
‘’There is no gainsaying that the test for the pooling is in hitting, Febuary 14th is the election date for National Assembly, we are always ready, we are oiling all our machines, we shall pull them into space when the time comes’’
Senator Ngige  disclosed that he will  re-contest the senate election  and expressed  hope of winning the poll, he said’’ In 2011, I contested for  the National Assembly sit in the senate , if you go to the record, I didn't come out very early enough, I declared for that seat in some five weeks to the election and somebody was there, but could not proceed, I had to come in as substitute, this time around, election is still about two and a half months away, so I don’t see why we should panic or freight over anything, the truth is that we are plotting our strategic plans and we are sure that we will actualize the victory for APC in this state come 2015’’ he assured.
Earlier in an interview, the national chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, Chief Victor Umeh  had assertively stated that APC and other parties have no footing again in Anambra politics, he noted that APGA has daily records of members of other political parties decamping en mass into the party, but attributed it to the achievements of the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano that made people to seek for a shelter under their platform.
Chief Umeh, expressed optimism that APGA has come to stay in Anambra state and would extend its political coverage to all the other four south eastern states in the 2015 general Election, He said; ‘’APGA has swallowed all the parties in Anambra state, the remaining members of APC have joined APGA yesterday,  you can see Dr. Chris Ngige just came here all alone, he does not come with anybody, that shows that he does not have  any supporter anymore and it is to the good  of APGA in  the state, because everybody in this state is embracing the party, which shows it’s an added strength to APGA,’
‘’After 2015 election, APGA will become insurmountable to all political parties and by the grace of God, the good work being done by our great Governor, Chief Willie Obiano are being given accolade by everybody, many people are joining the party every day.’

‘’The Mass Decampment of people from other parties to APGA is a sign that the party has no opposition in Anambra state and would extend same to other states of the south east come 2015 .’’ Umeh  opined.
