APC State Assembly Primaries : Tony One Week Sets For Second Missionary Journey

Tony Monagor, member representing Idemili North constituency in the Anambra House of Assembly, has expressed gratitude to the party for for electing him to contest the seat again on its platform.

Muonagor was unanimously nominated at the All Progressives Congress (APC ) primary in Ogidi.

The popular Nollywood actor and musician toldAshiwaju.org in Awka  that he was happy that the party acknowledged his loyalty and contributions to the strengthening of opposition in the last four years.

Monagor who is the Minority Leader in the House, promised to double his efforts to ensure that APC became stronger in the state through deeper grassroots mobilisation and delivery of dividends of democracy.

The entertainer-turned politician noted that his entry into politics was a huge motivation to entertainers to join politics, but enjoined his colleagues to be more at-home as to enjoy their trust, saying ‘politics is not make believe’.

He encouraged entertainers who did not get party tickets not to lose hope as he had similar experience before getting the platform that gave him the opportunity.

‘I thank the APC for rewarding loyalty, I also thank my Idemili people for identifying with me, my promise is that I will do more to make them happy in my second term when they eventually vote for me.

‘My people know me as a homeboy, I have never been away from them, so a vote for APC is a vote for progress, continuity and experience and those that ran against me, I call on them to join hands and lets build the party.

‘For my entertainment colleagues who are into this, politics is not a make believe, you do not expect people to worship you because they see you on the screen, you must come down to their levels but those who failed this time will always get it right next time,’ he said.

Some popular nollywood actors and entertainers who lost their party tickets include, Mr Bobmanuel Udoku also from Idemili North,  Mr Dayo Adeneye, Ms Kate Henshaw and Mr Kenneth Okonkwo.
