Breaking News: Senator Ayogu Eze wins Parallel Primary Election in Enugu

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works, Sen. Ayogu Eze, has emerged the winner of a parallel governorship primary election in Enugu State.
Although the main primary election, supervised by the electoral panel from Abuja, and attended by Governor Sullivan Chime, Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, other members of the national assembly, as well as the state leadership of the party, is still going on at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, as of the time of filing this report, Eze won the other event which held at Filbon Hotel, at New Haven, Enugu.
The Senator scored about 530 votes to defeat the other aspirants, who were absent at the event.
Ashiwaju.org gathered that the electoral panel, headed by King Asara A. Asara, tried to get the aspirants to participate in a unified primary election, but Eze reportedly backed out following disagreements over the delegates list.
Two other aspirants, Chinedu Onu, and Anayo Onwuegbu, had earlier on Sunday stepped down for the PDP consensus candidate, a member of the House of Representatives, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Ugwuanyi is expected to emerge as the party’s flag bearer from the “official” primary election at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
It would be recalled that Eze had kicked against Ugwuanyi’s selection as the consensus candidate.
As of the time of filing this report, Chime, Ekweremadu, Ugwuanyi, and another aspirant, speaker of the state house of assembly, Eugene Odo, have all voted at the primary election at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
