Bishop Ezeokafor Cautions Politicians Against Using Peoples' Children as Political Thugs

The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese , His Lordship Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeoksfor has cautioned politicians against using innocent children as political thugs.

Bishop Ezeokafor who gave the advice at Tansi international college, Awka, during the celebration of the feast of their patron saint ( Blessed Cyprain Iwene Tansi) said

'Politicians who give money and drugs to other peoples’ children in order to use them as thugs are doing the greatest harm to themselves, society and the country at large.'Such children will turn against the elected officials after the elections and they often make governance difficult for their sponsors

'We are yearning for free, fair and acceptable polls in 2015 and beyond.

'As leaders, we should all give attention to the upliftment, welfare, comfort and security of all Nigerians, ' Bishop Ezeokafor said.

He urged leaders of political parties and other Nigerians to ensure that the country is peaceful and united.

He said the Church would continue to pray fervently for sustainable democracy, peace and unity of the county.
