May God never shut women out of my life –Dayo Kujore

Veteran singer, Dayo Kujore, reigned supreme in the Nigerian music scene in the late 80s and 90s.
When he held sway in the Nigerian music scene, the ladies never seemed to have enough of him and many referred to him as being cute probably because of his stature.
In a chat with Saturday Beats, the singer said it has always been his prayer to God never to shut women out of his life.

He said, “I always say one prayer when it comes to my female fans and it is that may God not shut out women from my life. Behind a successful man is a woman. The women hold me in high esteem and I reciprocate the gesture but I run away from anything that has to do with an amorous relationship or sex with female fans. I love women because I was brought to this earth by a woman, I am married to a woman and I have a female child as well.”
When he was asked why nothing spectacular has been heard from him in recent times, the singer said the question was surprising as he released an album about two years ago which he said enjoyed massive airplay on radio stations across Nigeria daily.
“I am surprised that people would say they do not hear from me because I still released an album about two years ago titled Asiri Ife. I am working on the video and I also have some songs that I would release very soon. I perform at different shows virtually every weekend and I thank God for the people that love and believe in me. For instance, I am fully booked for April. I love my job and I would never quit as long as I am alive. I thank God for life because I am still in high demand. Although I am getting older, I still have so much energy in me. I do not drink or eat anything before my performance because it might weaken me or one might want to ease oneself every five minutes. After the show, I can decide to treat myself by knocking down some bottles of beer. I have the innate ability to sing and I see it as an anointing from God,” Kujore said.
