Nigerian school pupils are expected to resume studies on 22nd of September, 2016 after a long summer vacation which will herald the beginning of new school’s annual academic calendar.
Summer holidays as its widely christened is a period of the year where schools, institutions and firms set aside to allow their  pupils  and staff to observe an annual break to unwind with their families and love ones.
Nigerian ministry of education had announced 22nd of September as the date for the resumption for secondary and primary pupils in the country.
Students of Anambra state schools have appealed to the state government to provide them with improved academic infrastructural facilities that would enable them compete favourabley with their pairs in other states of the country.
They lamented the level of infrastructural decay in some of their institutions and called for a speedy intervention by government to provide them with an up to date modern scientific facilities and other educational implements that would enhance their study.
Parents and teachers also stressed the need for the students to devote most of their time to their studies, complimented with adequate programme of government on retraining of teachers and care givers to enable them meet up with the modern teaching techniques.
They said much is expected of the students which would be supported by the teachers and care givers, adding that the future of the nation lies in the hands of an educated younger generation.
On her part, the Anambra state commissioner for education, Professor Kate Omenugha assured of the state readiness to deliver the much desired academic programme of government that will mold the future leaders in the right direction.
She outlined programmes instituted by the state government to upgrade the students level of performance in their academic sphere, says the state would stop at nothing to ensure they provide the students with the best educational curriculum that is obtainable in the advance nations of the world.
Federal government had announced 22nd of September as the rescheduled date for Nigerian student in secondary and primary schools to resume throughout the country.
This would launch the country schools in a new academic calendar.
