Godwin Chukwunenye Ezeemo has called on Christian leaders to reinstate selfless service as the mainstay of their teachings. He said this while addressing a contingency of Christian leaders drawn from various denominations in Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Ezeemo recalled that the mission of Jesus Christ was first selfless and asserted that this selflessness should be the pillar of Christian doctrine and living. He expressed dismay at the high level of selfishness and lack of discipline tolerated in churches today which filters into the society and is the root cause of bad leadership.
“A selfish citizen would definitely make a selfish leader, while a selfless citizen, a selfless leader.”
He therefore encouraged church leaders to insist on selflessness as the key trait they look out for in the next governor of Anambra State they endorse come November 2017.
During the question and answer session, Godwin Ezeemo reiterated that his administration as governor would treat all Anambrarians equally regardless of the part of Anambra they are from or their religion or denomination.
In his words, “You can be rest assured that you all will be treated equally regardless of your denomination. My businesses employ people from all belief systems and origins without any special preferences. Equity has always been and will always be my watchword in my dealings.”
