Alleged fraud: Farmers Deny Government Largesse Claims

Following the recent online publication by the Anambra state government of having firm control of plantation of the Fluted pumpkin Leaves  known as UGU Vegetables in the state, some farmers have denied having government assistance in the ugu vegetables cultivations.

They dissociated themselves from the media report that the state government has invested much for Fluted pumpkin Leaves cultivation for local consumption and export.
Having dominated both social and conventional media space with the postponed exportation of Fluted pumpkin Leaves popularly known as Ugu vegetables to Europe and America to earn foreign exchange, some farmers in Anambra state have dissociated themselves from such claims.
They expressed disappointment on the claims by the state government.
Government had earlier disclosed that it had set land aside for the Ugu plantation.
The government also said it had given out modern farming equipments to farmers.
This according to farmers are just claims that has no relationship with reality.
Fluted pumpkin Leaves popularly known as Ugu leaves is described as the most sought after vegetable leaves by people from the south eastern region of Nigeria.
