A Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday fixed September 11, 2014 for hearing of a suit filed by a Lagos lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, seeking an order reinstating the impeached Governor of Adamawa State,
Trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, after confirming service of the processes in the suit on the defendants, said the defendants would have up until 3pm on September 8 to put in necessary defense to the suit.

Former X Factor contestant Simone Battle commits suicide


Beautiful singer Simone Battle best known as a member of girl group G.R.L has passed away. The 25 year old former X Factor contestant committed suicide in her home on Friday September 5th. Police say she was found hanging in a closet in her bedroom around 8:30am.A family friend revealed Simone had been quietly battling depression for a while.Simone came to prominence as a contestant on US X-Factor in 2011. She was a finalist on the show, making it to the top 17 before being eliminated by her mentor on the show, Simon Cowell. She joined G.R.L in 2012 and just recently, their single 'Ugly Heart' went platinum in Australia. Sad she didn't find reasons to continue living. See more photos of Simone after the cut.....

Over the past couple of days, Australian hostage negotiator, Stephen Davis, has been embroiled in quite a bit of controversy over his allegations about Boko Haram’s source of funding.
Davis has repeatedly stated that he was in Nigeria for four months, acting as a Boko Haram hostage negotiator to help free the Chibok girls. It was during the said negotiations that he claimed to have discovered that the terrorist group was being funded by prominent Nigerian politicians including, Ali Modu Sheriff. He also alleged that funds were being transferred via CBN.
The federal government via a statement last week, denied hiring Davis as a Boko Haram hostage negotiator.

I regret having Akpabio as my successor---- Ex-Gov Victor Attah


A former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Victor Attah, has spoken of his regret at the emergence of Godswill Akpabio as his successor.

At a reception as the leader of the Ibibio ethnic nationality, Mr. Attah said his “one painful regret” was leaving office in 2007 with a “successor but without a succession”.

I Never Sponsor Boko Haram--- Ihejiruka

Former Chief of  the Army  Staff, Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika, said, weekend, that the nation was yet to come to terms with the fact that Boko Haram and its sponsors are out to bring down Nigeria,  pointing out that this is why citizens were buying into what he called the fourth dimensional media warfare being waged  in support of the insurgency. Speaking at the quarterly re-union of the 18th  Regular Course Alumni in Abuja, Ihejirika, apparently reacting to the allegation of  an  Australian, Stephen Davies, said, “I want say it here that there is no reason whatsoever for me to be angry. I will however say that from the happenings in the country, it is obvious that we are yet to come to terms with the magnitude of the terrorists plot to bring down our nation and utterances like that only serve to assist them in their bid to bring down this democracy”.
