Over 18 years ago, precisely on November 20, 1999, the Nigerian military, acting on the orders of then President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, invaded Odi, a predominantly Ijaw community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, and wreaked monumental havoc on the community.

The attack, which many observers have described as a pogrom, came at a time when there was conflict in the oil-rich Niger Delta region over widespread agitations for oil resources control and environmental protection.

Boosting self-esteem is one of the 237 reasons people have sex, as observed by the University of Texas researchers and published in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour. That finding makes sense to Gina Ogden, PhD, a sex, marriage and family therapist in Cambridge, although she finds that those who already have self-esteem say they sometimes have sex to feel even better. “One of the reasons people say they have sex is to feel good about themselves,” she says. “Great sex begins with self-esteem, and it raises it. If the sex is loving, connected and what you want, it raises it.”

The picture caused so much ruckus even amongst fellow celebs who were aghast that the singer could wear such outfit in public.

But it is so apparent that Seyi doesn’t care whose ox is gored as she told Saturday Beats recently she was so proud and comfortable wearing the outfit.

A few days ago, at the PDP state party secretariat in Udoka Estate, Awka, PDP held state congress to elect officers to take charge of party affairs after a long term of bickering and uncertainties, leading to the party participating in the past gubernatorial election with a caretaker committee.

But Chris Uba was alleged to have sworn that the congress would not hold, after making failed moves to hijack the congress and supplant his cronies all across the available positions in the Exco. These moves, sources affirmed, included nocturnal visits to the oil-rich southern states to prostrate for one very powerful governor and other party stakeholders that he be given the state structure of the party.

Chris Ngige as governor, the PDP has become a workshop for “political merchants” who continue to use the party for their business interests. The PDP stalwarts who are age-long in this trend, as the last election revealed, include; Mr. Chris Uba, Nicholas Ukachukwu and brothers, Prince John Emeka, Ken Emekayi, Ben Nwankwo and recently others joined, including Sen. Stella Oduah, Ifeanyi Ubah and almost all the PDP House of Representatives members from Anambra State.
