Reactions have trailed the recent killing of a petty trader and loader , One Ejiofor Atah at the popular Eke Awka market,on Tuesday, In Awka, Anambra state Capital.
Eye withness account revealed that the incident occurred at about nine in the morning, when the vigilante men were allegedly on rampage in an attemt to collect loading and off-loading levies from the deceased in the market.

EZINANO Villagers Urge Speedy Government Intervention To Resolve Land Tussle Crisis In Their Community


Indigenes of Ezinano community of Awkw, Anambra, Have chased out residents and artisans on Rockland Building Estate to seal-off property over non-payment of compensation on their land.
The indigenes who came out in their hundreds are accusing the owners of the estate, Frnacis Obiene of acquising their land without any monetary compesansation.
The leader of the group, Obi Ochijie said the developer, who acquired the property in 1979, had refused to meet with the community members after several series of calls and letters for dialogue.
They revelaed that the developer took advantage of the disunity mechanism being experienced in the community before now to avoid compensation them.

Government’s effort to broker peace between the Anglican Communion and the Nkwelle Ezunaka Community is yielding desirable result as the fact finding panel set up by Chief Willie Obiano, submitted their report on Wednesday (yesterday).
The panel has Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke as its Chairman. Once again, Chief Willie Obiano has achieved another first in less than 6 months into his administration as Ndi Anambra now have a new identity comprising a Logo, an Anthem and a Flag.
 During the 100 Days-in-Office Celebration, the action governor proposed the new identity while expressing his determination and preparedness to expand the frontiers of excellence in Anambra State. Same day, Obiano urged all citizens to stop being “Anambrarians” but “Ndi Anambra”.

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State yesterday mourned the death of Mr Dimgba Igwe, Vice Chairman of The Sun Publishing outfit, describing it as a sad loss which had depleted the ranks of the nation’s best minds in journalism. 
The Anambra governor said the tragic circumstances of Mr Igwe’s end in a hit and run mishap made his death a painful loss for every Nigerian. We have suddenly been robbed of a very bright star in our national firmament, Obiano said in a statement.

Boko Haram shoots Obasanjo’s son, kills 24 soldiers


Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s son, Adeboye,  was Monday shot in an attack by Boko Haram in Baza in Adamawa State.Vanguard online reported that the younger Obasanjo, a lieutenant colonel, suffered the injury when Boko Haram militants attacked the platoon that he led.Twenty four soldiers were killed in the shoot out.Obasanjo, an army engineer at the 3rd Division, Jos, Plateau State sustained gun shot wounds to the leg.At the time of the incident, Major Gen JS Zaruwa, Colonel Victor Ebhaleme who serves as the Brigade Commander of the 23rd Army Brigade in Yola and Lieutenant Agwu were all together advancing towards Michika when Boko Haram fighters ambushed them and unleashed the deadly attack on the soldiers.

A group, the Human and Environmental Development Agenda, HEDA, has petitioned the International Criminal Court, ICC, at The Hague over the possible culpability of Nigerian government officials in the terrorist activities of Boko Haram.
In a petition dated September 1, 2014, and addressed to Fatou Bensouda of the ICC’s Office of the Trial Prosecutor, HEDA demanded a comprehensive examination of the heinous crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Boko Haram group in Nigeria.
