No Need To Impeach Obiano -Ubah

BY ABUCHI IFESINACHI, AWKA
Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil and forerunner of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria ( TAN ) Chief Ifeanyi Ubah has categorically stated that there was absolutely no need to impeach Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State .
This categorical statement made by the oil magnet came on the heels of allegations in some quarters that the Peoples Democratic Party was doing everything humanly possible to secure majority seats in the State House of Assembly to provide a leaway for the PDP majority to unseat Governor Obiano .
Chief Ubah who had a chat with Fides at his country home, Nnewi, said there was no such clandestine move to truncate the affairs of the present administration in the state and that the party had little or no interest in the state assembly elections .
He however lamented that the State government employed every means necessary to truncate the State house of assembly elections adding that MASSOB were brought in some areas to disrupt the electoral process even as he expressed optimism that despite all the antics of the state government , the PDP will not be intimidated .
On the issue of threats meted out to igbos in Lagos State by a traditional ruler, Chief Ubah wondered why Igbos sbould be threatened and compelled to exercise their franchise for a particular political party and its candidates  stressing that igbos should be allowed to exercise their political rights anywhere in Nigeria not only in Lagos State,  in accordance with the freedom of expression .
Contributing to the media chat , national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party Chief Olisa Metu said the rumours of impeachment was untrue in the sense that the party has no tenacious hold on the state house of assembly elections . Chief Metu maintained that it was political inexperience on the part of the state governor that made him fell victim in the hands of political jobbers and opportunists who he said told the governor all kinds of stories to extort money from him .
'We want to assist the governor . Peter Obi worked with everyone . So Obiano should desist from all parochial and immature attempts to lord it over everybody in Anambra because some elements in the state were orchastrating circumstances to keep him hostage in the state... " Metu stated . He equally emphasized that they were surpporting their candidates to run for the state house of assembly elections to represent their contituencies and that nobody intends to remove Obiano from office .
Chief Metu was of the opinion that 'God has given Obiano the governorship position of the State but 2018 would be a fierce battle.
