Crashed Bristow helicopter Black box found



 The Accident Investigation Bureau on Friday announced that it had recovered the Black Box of the Bristow helicopter that crashed into the Lagos lagoon on Wednesday.
The black box contains the cockpit voice and the flight data recorders.

The crisis between two ex-governors of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mr Babatunde Fashola deepened on Friday with reports that loyalists of both gladiators have drawn up battle plans, even as stakeholders in both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Lagos State are said to have waded in, calling for a truce.
A former member of the Lagos State Executive Council who did not want to be named, told Ashiwaju.org on Friday that “some elders are planning a peace meeting between the duo.”

WE earlier reported about the demise of Borno State Deputy Governor, in the same vain, the state Government has confirmed that the death report of Mr. Zannah Mustapha who passed on at the early hour of Saturday 15th August, 2015. in an hotel in Yola, Borno state capital.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Usman Jidda Shuwa, said Mr. Mustapha died in his sleep Saturday morning while visiting Yola, the Adamawa State capital, to attend the convocation ceremony of Modibbo Adama University of Science and Technology, Yola.

 Information reaching Ashiwaju.org revealed that the Borno State deputy governor, Zannah Mustapha, is feared dead, according to  sourced from government officials.

The deputy governor reportedly died in Yola, capital of the neighbouring Adamawa state, while on an official duty there.

Details of his demise has not been made known, but news about his death has sent shock waves across Borno state.

NEW NNPC GMD ACCUSED OF DOUBLE STANDARD IN FIGHTING CORRUPTION

The new Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu has been accused of sparing his friend in the ongoing restructuring at the national oil company.
Sources said Mr Gbenga Komolafe, who is allegedly linked to several transactions that shortchanged the nation in the oil sector during the last administration, was retained while his counterparts in other departments were forced to resign.
Komolafe who held positions in commercial divisions including Executive Director Commercial, Pipeline and Products Marketing Company and recently the Group General Manager (GGM), Crude Oil Marketing Division, has now been posted as GGM Special Duties in the oil tower, a new position created by the new GMD.

Anambra PDP Suspends Olisa Metu Bans 9 Members From Contesting




There is confusion in Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as two factions are suspending each other . A faction of the party loyal to Olisah Metuh , national publicity secretary of PDP has banned nine chieftains, including the governorship candidate of the party in the 2013 election in the state, Comrade Tony Nwoye, from contesting any election on its platform for two years.
This was announced by the disciplinary committee of the party on Thursday in Awka, Anambra State capital.
Rising from a four-hour sitting at the party secretariat  the panel said that Nwoye and others who had been earlier suspended by the state executive committee were guilty of allegations leveled against them.

The Nigerian President, Mr.  Muhammadu Buhari has issued a three months grace priod to Service Chiefs to end the Boko Haram insurgency in the country.
He gave the directive while officially decorating newly appointed and cleared by the Senate service chiefs with their new ranks.
Those decorated are– Major-Gen. Abayomi Gabriel Olonishakin (Chief of Defence Staff), Major-Gen. T.Y. Buratai (Chief of Army Staff), Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Chief of Naval Staff) and Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar (Chief of Air Staff).
President Buhari urged them to fashion out strategies to defeat the jihadists in next three months.





Fashole Clears Alleged N78 Million Website Rumour

 The former Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has finally broken the silence over alleged rumour making rounds , detailing how the Lagos State Government under his watch as Governor, spent the sum of N78 million for the upgrade of the website – www.tundefashola.com.

Kentucky Judge orders clerk to issue gay marriage licenses



As part of activities to institutionalise same sex marriage in America as being pronounced by a ruling of the the Supreme Court which would serve as judicial precedence, a federal judge  in Kentucky hasordered a county clerk  to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis was one of a handful of local elected officials across the country that stopped issuing marriage licenses after the court's ruling in June. She said issuing a marriage license to a gay couple would violate her Christian beliefs and argued the U.S. Constitution protected her religious freedoms.

It came with great relief, reading the Press Statement by the Borno Elders Forum, demanding an apology from ex-President Goodluck Jonathan “over the death of Borno State residents” during the various Boko Haram attacks under his administration. I was relieved because the first thing that came to my mind was that finally, the war against Boko Haram was over. The bombings were over, there would be no more death of innocent residents of Borno State. The federal government had been able to either arrive at a ceasefire or perhaps, that the blood suckers have been totally subdued, and it is time for stocktaking.
