Obaze in Lagos, vows to do one term

The governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Oseloka H. Obaze and his running  mate, Barr. Alexandra Onyemelukwu and their campaign train, led by the former Gov. of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi were in Lagos today as part of the campaign for the gubernatorial election slated for November 18.

The campaign train visited nine markets- Electronics/ Electrical Alaba; Balogun Business Association ( BBA); APT, ASPAMDA, among others.

In each of the market, Obaze's message was the same. He regretted that the current Governor in Anambra state has failed not only by poor representation of the North Senatorial District, but also by total failure to sustain the gains recorded by his predecessor.

Accepting that Gov. Obiano is about completing the first tenure, he vowed that he would do only a term.

His major campaign thrust was the presentation of his manifesto to the people, which, according to him, is hinged on education as the major tool for the emancipation of the people. He said that not only would 26% of the budget go to education, that 10% of it would go to government's critical partners  in education, namely, the Church. He also said that they would come out with a template for functional vocational education.

Mr. Obaze regretted that all ongoing projects by Mr. Peter Obi had been abandoned and vowed to sustain all of them.

Obaze also pledged to  explore his international connection garnered in over 20 years at the United Nations to bring back all the development partners that have since left the State.

Earlier in his remarks, Mr. Peter Obi said that though he was the one that brought Gov. Obiano out, but that as he promised while campaigning for him, that he owed  it to himself and the society, the moral duty to help  in his replacement for demonstration of gross incompetence.

Obi took time to reel out his achievements in office, the money he left for Obiano (over N100 billion when set aside and dollar savings are added), asking what has happened to the money. He regretted that in spite of the bequeathal, that Obiano went on to even plunge the state into debt, thus enslaving the future of Anambra state.

The campaign train was well received in all the markets they visited, with each of them regretting the level of lies and propaganda Obiano had reduced governance to.
