Anambra Youths protest Against killing of businessman

A group of youths staged a peaceful protest over an alleged Killing of one Nonso Onyeme and an attempted murder of his friend Chigozie Okoye by a Police officer in Anambra State police command.
The protesters who marched around the Popular Aroma junction before proceeding to the Police Headquarters, Amawbia to lodge their complaints, were carrying placards with different inscriptions such as, “stop killing unarmed citizens, is a life worth N100, Stop Police brutality Reform Police, Nigeria Police serve and protect,” among others.
Presenting their complaint to the representative of Anambra state police commissioner, DCP Chris Owolabi, the Leader of the Group, Harrison Gwamnishu, expressed dismay over the alleged murder of Nonso Onyeme, a businessman from Agulu in Aniocha local government area of the state on the seventh of this month and an attempted murder of his friend Chigozie Okoye along  Agulu- Awka road.
He claimed that twenty-four hours after the incident took place, the Police authority was yet to arrest the officer involved in the incident.
Responding on behalf of the Commissioner of Police in the state, Garba Umar, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Administration, Chris Owolabi, described the incident as unfortunate and condoled with the state and family of the deceased.

However, the lawmaker representing Aniocha 1 state constituency expressed displeasure over the unfortunate death of his constituent member, called for an overhaul of the nation policing system that will display professionalism in the discharge of the duty.
It would be recalled that police patrol check point, adjacent NAFDAC office Agulu in Aniocha Locagl government of Anambra state, embarked on a stop and search where Nonso Onyeme, a businessman refused to provide the 100 naira request by the police before the alleged threat to kill Nonso by the policeman then turned a reality.
