A three-storey residential building under construction at Lomalinda Estate off Monarch Avenue Independence Layout, in Enugu South Local Government Area has collapsed with no casualty recorded.
The building which was under construction before the collapse was said to have been abandoned two year before the developer decided to commence work on the site.
Eye witness account revealed that the building which is located behind Catherine Lodge, was originally a bungalow construction, it was later upgraded to a two storey building, until last month, when the developer decided to add one more storey, to make it a three storey building before the collapse incident took place.
There were no casualties reported according to sources.
When ashiwaju.org visited the site some residents of the area attributed the incident to substandard materials and the use of quack engineer’s in the execution of the project.
