NLC, TUC Minimum wage talks enter day 3 with Labour Ministers


There is no agreement yet between labour and the federal government as negotiations enters the third day.

Negotiations to continue after eight hours of meeting in the early hours of Thursday failed to reach a truce.

Labour and Employment Minister, Chris Ngige, said a sub committee of the negotiating team has been mandated to look through some documents and come up with agreeable figures.


The sub committee is to feed the larger House by 7 this evening after which deliberations are billed to be concluded.

NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, admited that some concessions have been made but will not disclose details until talks are concluded.

He said states that have kickstarted strikes to do so after break down in negotiations with their respective governments are concluded.

All parties are to resume deliberations by 7pm today, 17tj of October, 2019.
