The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State, said that thugs did not cart away its voter enrollment machines in Surulere as reported in some sections of the media.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some online media on Friday reported that thugs invaded INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) centre, situated at St. Bridget Catholic Church Ijesha, in Surulere, and catered away INEC enrollment machines.

Following the over 5-months industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), and National Association of Technologists (NAAT), over federal government’s inability to respect the 2009 agreement as well as its failure to meet union’s demands, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Anambra State Council last Tuesday embarked on a peaceful protest in solidarity with ASUU and other university Unions.
