BY RAYMOND OZOJI, Awka

The Federal Cooperative College Oji River Enugu State has proven herself to be a credible alternative as well as viable option as the 2023/2024 academic session shows that more Nigerians subscribed to the institution.

The College admission officer Hon. Obinna Ezeano, who spoke with this journalist, said that the 2023/2024 academic year was a quantum leap from other years as all the departments were in very high demand.

Ezeano recalled that in previous years the Cooperative Economics and Management Department (CEM) had more patronage but the current academic year, according to him, has shown that the Federal Cooperative College Oji River has endeared herself to Nigerians as other departments in the College had more intakes even as he said that admission was still ongoing.

The admission officer maintained that from the outcome of the current academic year, many people have realised the urgent need to take advantage of the academic opportunities that abound at the Federal Cooperative College Oji River.

He said that one remarkable quality of the institution is that it has never embarked on strike since inception in 1976 and her academic calendar has never been interrupted while students graduated in record time.

Also the Dean of Students' Affairs Mr. Monday Negbe, who spoke on the 2023/2024 academic session, said remarkable progress has been made with the number of students admitted so far even as he equally affirmed that admission was still in progress.

Negbe stated that the current academic year revealed that the Federal Cooperative College Oji River is fast becoming a household name amongst Nigerians and that the quality of her graduates is another added advantage.

According to the Dean, the College prides herself in internal road infrastructure, top-notch classroom blocks, introduction of new courses, quality teachers coupled with a very serene learning environment.

Negbe also informed that the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) will in no distant time visit the Federal Cooperative College Oji River for accreditation of more courses.
