South West Development Commission (SWDC) just signed an MoU with the NRC to link railway lines across all six Yoruba states.
Regional integration, economic expansion, long-term planning — actual governance.
Meanwhile, Northern elites are still breastfeeding bandits like it’s a community project, then turning around to ask the South-West to pause development and “come and help fight the insecurity they personally nurtured”.
Sorry o, but why should we abandon the tracks we’re laying for progress just to go and fund the chaos someone else invested in?
You created the problem.
You sponsored the problem.
You protected the problem.
Now you want Yoruba tax money to solve the problem?
…some people think irresponsibility is a national treasure.
This is what I have advised the South West governors to do when former President Buhari completed Lagos-Ibadan standards rail gauge. I proposed rail interconnectivity linking all the states in the South West Yorubaland in such a way that it would be easier to travel from one state to another by train.
Thank God for this initiative and I hope that the project will be faster and the construction will be speedily completed on schedule.
