Honourable Bethel Amadi had on Tuesday, October 212014, collected a governorship aspirant ticket at Wadata plaza Abuja, under the platform of the People's Democratic Party to join the existing eleven aspirants that have indicated interest to struggle the governor seat with the incumbent governor, Owelle Rochas Oorocha of the All Progressive Congress APC
The Parliamentarian, H.E. Hon Bethel Amadi (OFR) took the important step of present himself as an aspirant in the forthcoming "Gubernatorial Primaries" of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by purchasing the
nomination form and officially entered the race. 
His candidacy is borne out of the imperative of ending the era of unprecedented move to effect change that the people of Imo state expects.

Jonathan reshuffles cabinet

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday directed the Minister of State II, for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nurudeen Mohammed, to take over as the Supervising Minister of Information pending the time a substantive minister would be named.

The position became vacant following the exit of Mr. Labaran Maku who resigned from the cabinet to enable him contest the forthcoming governorship election in Nassarawa State.

Patience Jonathan Resigns as Perm Sec Over Rift with Dickson

Wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Dame Patience Jonathan, has resigned her appointment as Permanent Secretary in the Bayelsa State Civil Service.

The 57-year-old Patience was said to have left the service voluntarily.

Dame Patience Jonathan was one of the appointed 17 permanent secretaries in the state civil service in July 2012.

The appointment had caused outrage in the state at the time with some Bayelsans expressing misgivings about it and the extent to which the civil service was politicised.

The disagreement between President Goodluck Jonathan and Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, took a fresh turn on Saturday when the governor declared that the President was not his brother.

President Jonathan and Amaechi, who are from the South-South geopolitical zone of the country, have been at daggers-drawn over ceded oil wells and political differences.

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has flayed the zoning arrangement put in place by its All Progressive Congress counterpart for the governorship seat, describing it as undemocratic.

FG to ban commercial motorcycles nationwide

The use of motorcycles as commercial means of transport in Nigeria, popularly known as ‘Okada’ or ‘Achaba’ may soon be banned throughout the country.

The proposal for the ban was made by the National Council on Transport after its annual conference in Enugu State and endorsed by the Minister of Transport, Sen. Idris Umar.

A statement from the Federal Ministry of Transport on Saturday evening stated that the ban of commercial motorcycle was one of the measures proposed towards adequate provision of safety and secure transportation in Nigeria.

Moves To Impeach Tambuwal Tickens, He Commence Lobbying Reps

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, is making moves to ensure members of the House of Representatives will not impeach him when he finally defects from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

There had been speculations that Tambuwal might defect from the PDP, on which platform he was elected to the House, to the APC.
