In a recent statement via his official X account, human rights lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi, has expressed strong opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s administration while rejecting any idea of foreign intervention in Nigeria’s affairs.
”I don’t like Tinubu and his motley crew of prebendalist thieves, and ethnoreligious terrorists: I loathe them. BUT I like Trump and the idea of American interventions in my country even less,” he wrote.
In his post, Farotimi made it clear that he holds deep dislike for President Bola Tinubu and those around him, whom he accused of poor governance and self-interest.
Farotimi stated that his opposition to the current administration is rooted in what he sees as long-standing problems of corruption, prebendal politics, and ethnic and religious manipulation.
He argued that these issues have weakened the country and caused hardship for ordinary Nigerians.
According to him, the political system continues to reward greed while ignoring justice and accountability.
However, Farotimi also drew a firm line against foreign involvement in Nigeria’s internal matters.
While acknowledging that he has some personal views about United States President Donald Trump, he stressed that he strongly rejects the idea of American or any foreign intervention in Nigeria.
He warned that external interference would only worsen the country’s problems rather than solve them.
He stated that Nigeria’s challenges must be resolved by Nigerians themselves.
