POLITCAL UPHEAVAL: IGP, Arrest Ekwunife Now-----Umeh PHOTOS


What looks like political intolerance is secretly brewing very fast in Anambra  State, following the destruction of over 34 billboards erected by Chief Sir Victor Umeh of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, allegedly  carried out by loyalists  suspected to be working for Honourabe Uche Ekwunife of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, both contesting for the central senatorial seat of the state.
Taking journalists round the sites, the Director General of Chief Sir Victor Umeh Campaign Organization , Barrister Obele-Chuka-Obele disclosed that only the posters of Honourable Ekwunife are still standing in Eri-Na-Ano,  Enuguw-Ukwu , Agu-Ukwu Nri, Adazi , Nwagu-Agulu , Nkpor,  Ogidi, Borromeo and other places around the senatorial district as at the time of the tour.
He described the  actions  as “most unfortunate and a very crooked way by practicing gutter politics and thuggery of  expressing power”.
His words: “Inspite of these deliberate provocations by this group and also inspite of the fact that Chief Sir Victor Umeh Organization, has the wherewithal, capacity and capability to retaliate tenfold, we still restrain ourselves and resisted the temptation of  degeneration to her level of gutter politics and thuggery which has become the imprimatur of Iyom Uche Ekwunife ”.
Barrister Obele Chuka  expressed displeasure at the rate political opponent who is becoming intolerant, stating that “we are guided by the philosophy of our principal Chief Sir Victor Umeh, to maintain high decorum and run a purely issue-based campaign devoid of any action that might cause breach of peace in the state ”.
Director General Victor Umeh Campaign Organization however called of the Inspector General of Police, Sulaiman Abba to enforce the provision of the breach of  peace and unlawful Assembly law on Honourable Uche Ekwunife for allegedly destroying the political billboard of Chief Sir Victor Umeh at various Locations in the Central Zone of Anambra state.
His Words ‘’ we call on the Inspector General of police (IGP) and the Anambra state commissioner of police to immediately enforce the provision of the breach of peace and unlawful Assembly Law, Section 3(2) or  that he should prescribe a one-year prison term or one million naira fine or both prison term or fine for its violation’’
Reacting when contacted vying telephone chat, Honourable Uche Ekwunife dissociated herself from the allegation, and describe it as a figment of imagination which would not help the later by creating blackmail to gain cheat political scores.
She alleged that her billboards had been destroyed on many occasions, but remain resolute, she buoyed to embarking on issue-based campaign devoid of any political distraction from any quarter but reaching out to the electorates, telling them the programmes she has been able to execute as an honourable member in the house of representatives, and promised to provide better representation, if given another opportunity to serve at an exulted office of the National Assembly.
