The Anambra State Police Command on Tuesday, 16 February, 2016, paraded a total of 19 suspects involved in armed robbery and cult related activities
Parading the suspects, at the
command's headquarters, Awka, the Anambra State commissioner of police, Mr. Hosea Hassan Karma represented by the command's Public Relations Officer, ASP Alli Okechukwu, said notwithstanding, the Command, in a sustained onslaught against crime and criminal activities has recorded some breakthrough in the area of arrest of crime suspects and recoveries of Arm/ammunitions, drugs, other dangerous weapons and stolen items.

His words, ' 07/01/2016, at about 1430hrs at Nkpor Uno in Idemili North L.G.A of Anambra State, one name withheld aged 24yrs, he was arrested while three of his gang members now at large. They are members of baggers confraternity secret cult and four armed robbery gang terrorizing Nkpor/Obosi and Ogidi communities. Items recovered from him were- four locally made pistols, six live cartridges and two bags of Indian hemps. Case charged to court.
'17/01/2016 at about 2134hrs, at Nkpor Idemili North L.G.A. of Anambra State one name withheld aged 21yrs and one , 18yrs old were arrested while having their initiation meeting at a joint, while other members took to their heels. Suspects confessed to be members of Vikings Confraternity secret cult. Items recovered from them were two cut to size double barrel gun and five live cartridges. Case charged to court.
'0n 14/02/2016, at about 1814hrs, at Aroma junction, Awka in Awka South L.G.A of Anambra State, the following persons were arrested at Abuja Connection Centre, Arroma Junction, Awka,' he said
According to him, the suspects were arrested while initiating new members into Vikings Confraternity secret cult confessed to the crime while other members are at large. Items he said recovered from them were (1) four stickers, one White Vickings handkerchief. Three red Vikings face-cap, one black Vikings face-cap, one red Vikings cloth , one black, blue and white handkerchief, one head band and three axes.
Mr. Karma said at about 2300hrs on 05/02/2016, at Enugwu Agidi town in Njikoka L.G.A of Anambra they also arrested one male name withheld in their initiation ground while trying to initiate new members into their Vikings confraternity secret cult but on sighting the Operatives, other members took to their heels. According to the police boss Items recovered from the suspects was a small sharp axe.
Others suspected cults were arrested one on 09/02/2016, at about 2200hrs, at Iyiowa Odekpe
Stealing and burglary, armed robbery suspects were also paraded
