Jonathan’s re-election: Ex-militants vow to cut off fuel supply to North if....

Repentant militant leaders in the Niger Delta have threatened to cut off the supply of petroleum products to Northern Nigeria, should the North oppose the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.
The ex-militants, at their meeting in Oron, Akwa Ibom State,  also threatened to ensure that the North did not benefit from crude oil proceeds generated from the Niger Delta region.

Breaking News: Military nabs abductor of Chibok girls

Almost three months after Boko Haram terrorists abducted more than 200 schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State, the military announced, yesterday, that it has arrested one of the sect’s leaders, who was one of the abductors.
This came on a day the sect members bombed a Divisional Police Headquarters in Shani Local Government Area of Borno State and also attacked an emir’s palace.

Breaking News: Deadly Blast in Maiduguri kills at least 15

A huge explosion in the northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri on Tuesday killed at least 15 people, an AFP photographer said, in the latest blast to hit the city repeatedly attacked by Boko Haram Islamists.

After the explosion in a truck carrying charcoal at the city’s biggest roundabout during morning rush hour, victims were taken to the State Specialist Hospital, where the photographer saw the bodies of 15 people killed in the blast, while witnesses said the toll could be much higher.

Ohakim Says He Regrets His Action As Governor Of Imo State

The immediate past Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, has pleaded for forgiveness from those he offended during his tenure as governor of the state.
He said he had forgiven those who offended him during the course of his administration.

Nigeria’s Former Aviation Minister, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, on Monday, alleged that the dreaded Islamic terrorist sect Boko Haram, which has wrecked havoc in the northern part of the country, is the armed wing of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC). He further accused the Party’s leaders of being supportive of the sect’s actions, as it suits their purpose of discrediting the PDP led government.
“If you compare what’s happening in Nigeria to what happened in Ireland some years ago, you had Sinn Fein on the one hand and then you had the IRA on the other. The IRA was the armed wing of Sinn Fein and as far as I’m concerned, Boko Haram could well be described as the armed wing of the opposition, today.”

A former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, has lamented that since the return to democracy in 1999, most of the elections in the country have been a mockery of democracy.

OKONKWO RESIGNS FROM APC

The immediate-past interim Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Annie Okonkwo, has resigned his membership of the party.
Okonkwo, who is also the President of C21, an Igbo socio-political group in a statement he signed yesterday, said he resigned his membership because of the party’s scruffy promises, lack of internal democracy, clannish and sectional disposition of the leadership, adding that APC had no good plans for the South-East people.
