Built into the fabric of the right to choose is also the right to make mistakes and so, across Africa at this moment, in Nigeria, Tanzania, Cote d’Ivoire, Burundi, Guinea Conakry, Rwanda, the lessons are being driven home, as elections are being held or have been held or will be held, that even as democracy spreads within the continent, the tension between stabilization and consolidation, and efficiency, pessimism and optimism, ethnocentrism and nationalism, remains a major concern.  Reuben Abati

Obiano Solicits F.G's intervention on Failed Nkpor Flyover over Swept By Erosion Menace


Governor Willie Obiano has called on the Federal Government to urgently intervene on the Nkpor Flyover that has been cut off by erosion.
The Governor made the call yesterday in NKpor Flyover, Idemili North council area while inspecting the level of devastation done in the area.

He regretted that similar Federal Government project worth of 25 billion naira executed for Federal Govt previously, has not been remitted to Anambra State coffer.
Chief Obiano assured that he has directed a road construction company known as Infrastructure Development Company (IDC) to apply palliative measure on the road pending the intervention of the federal government.

Lamar Odom Allegely blocked own father from visiting him


Odom’s father, Joe Odom, said Wednesday night that Khloe Kardashian is in charge of who gets to visit Odom at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and that she refuses to put him on the list. However, TMZ reports that Lamar is currently doing well enough to make his own decisions and that he gets the final say over who is allowed to visit with him.

The father of the Ooni Elect, Oluropo Ogunwusi, has stated his excitement at the naming of his son, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, as the new Ooni of Ife, just as members of the Giesi ruling house rolled out the drums in the town on Monday.
Pa Ogunwusi said he was not taken by surprise that his son was the one chosen to ascend the throne of the Ooni, because he “grew up with signs of greatness”.
Speaking with much glee, he said his son had followed up on a prophecy which came by a “man of God” declaring that he would be a great man.

Police release pro-Biafra activists (Supporters)


The 17 protesting members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who were arrested by the Anambra State Police Command, have been released.
Police spokesman Ali Okechukwu said those released were 13 women and four men who were protesting the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu.

ELDER statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, has dismissed insinuations that he betrayed former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, by reportedly saying that the ex-President lacked the political will to fight corruption, noting that he was maliciously misconstrued.
Clark, who was criticised by some associates of the former President over the statement, also denounced claims that his decision to quit partisan politics was provoked by the ex-President’s defeat at the polls.

President Alassane Ouattara of Ivory Coast Gets Another Term of Office in Landslide---PHOTOS

One of  the most celebrated president of  Ivory Coast, President Alassane Ouattara  has again secured another term of five years in office with a blowout poll victory in the qwwkend poll results.
Ashiwaju.org gathered that the country's elections commission described the victory Wednesday
as the vote that was intended to draw a line under years of turmoil and a 2011 civil war,
Ouattara won a total of 2,118,229 votes, or 83.66 percent of ballots cast.
