Buhari Bemoans Kogi, Bayelsa elections Rates Below Expected Value For True Democracy





  President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday lamented that despite government’s efforts aimed at ensuring the conduct of credible elections, some malpractices were witnessed in the recent governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states.

He called on Nigerians to support all necessary measures aimed at ensuring free, fair and credible elections in the country, including the use of card readers and permanent voter cards.




How Nigeria spent N6.9tn on subsidy in five years – Bank Ki Moon









Nigeria spent about $35bn (N6.9bn) in the last five years to subsidise petroleum products, the World Bank has said.
In its ‘Nigeria Economic Report No. 3’, which was released in Abuja on Tuesday, the bank said fuel subsidy incapacitated the country’s ability to save for the rainy day occasioned by falling crude oil prices in the international market.
