TRADITIONAL RULERS SUE FOR DIVERSIFICATION OF NIGERIA ECONOMY AWAY FROM OIL

Council of traditional rulers in Anambra state has charged government to see diversification of the Nigeria economy from its mono-cultural produce, as the solution to sustainable socio-economic stability for the country.
They blame the poor state of the economy on neglect by successive administrations and over dependence on oil produce as the main stay of the country’s economy, leaving other sources untapped.
The monarchs made this resolution in a 10 point communiqué, made available to newsmen in Awka, which marked the end of 2016 Anambra state council of tradition rulers seminar tagged: Diversion of The Nigeria Economy, A sine Que Non For Sustainable socio-economic stability and growth.

Anambra places 19 persons on Lassa Fever Surveillance

The chief medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University teaching hospital Nnewi, Professor Anthony Igwegbe says they have placed nineteen persons on surveillance in connection with the death of patient who died of lassa fever, on referral from a private hospital in Asaba, Delta state.
He revealed that the patient was diagnosed of lassa fever, few hours he was brought into the hospital but later died before treatment commenced.

The Enugu-Onitsha expressway has been regarded as the major road connecting the South East and South South , through the Niger Bridge, linking Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi States, as well as the North, via Benue and Kogi States.
Over the years, this all-important road, home to heavy vehicular traffic, has been in a very deplorable state. How the Trunk-A highway went from bad to worse remain a puzzle to many road users.

Police Arrest 23 over act of terrorism



Anambra state police command has arrested 23 youths for allegedly killing his personnel over disputed landed property in Dunukofia LGA, Anambra state .
