Don urges Nigerians to exploit benefits of zobo leave to cure hypertension, others


Prof. Daniel Nwachukwu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of University of Nigeria in-charge of University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (UNEC), has urged Nigerians to exploit the benefits of zobo leave to cure hypertension and other ailments.

Nwachukwu, who is a Professor of Cardiovascular Physiology in the university, gave the advice while delivering the 201st Inaugural Lecture of the University on Thursday in Enugu.

NAFOWA provides free medicare for 1,050 residents of Enugu, inaugurates projects

 


No fewer than 1,050 residents of Emene community in Enugu have benefitted from Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) Comprehensive Medical Outreach on Friday.

The outreach, sponsored by the National President of NAFOWA, Dr Rakiya Abubakar, covered free treatment for various ailments for the residents especially women and children of Emene community and other adjoining communities within Enugu metropolis.

IWD: SSDO takes campaign on women leadership, GBV law enforcement to Enugu communities

 


The South Saharan Social Development Organization (SSDO) through its Sister Guardian Initiative (SGI) has taken awareness on women leadership rights and Gender Based Violence (GBV) law enforcement to three communities within Enugu State.

The workshop, which is part of activities marking the commemoration of the International Women’s Day (IWD), brought together women from Ibute-Nze, Ezi-Nze, and Akpakwume communities in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Commissioner pledges support to sports talents, development in Enugu Custodial Centres

 


The Enugu State Government has pledged its support to sports activities and development within Custodial Centres in Enugu State.

The state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Lloyd Ekweremadu, made the pledge after watching a novelty match played in his honour in the Football Pitch of Enugu Maximum Custodial Centre on Wednesday.

Ekweremadu, who was highly impressed by the talents displayed by the inmates during the match, noted that the state government through his ministry would see how best to harness the football and other sporting talents within the centre.

Lagbaja tasks senior commanders, leaders on innovative ideas, being catalyst for change


The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has tasked senior commanders and senior military leaders on innovative ideas and being a catalyst for change within the Nigerian Army.

Lagbaja gave the task on Tuesday in Enugu while declaring open the 2024 First Senior Command and Leadership Seminar being held in 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Enugu.

NYSC urges corps members to integrate knowledge learnt during orientation course

 


The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator, in Enugu State, Mrs Christiana Salmwang has urged corps members to integrate the knowledge they have acquired during their orientation course and put them into practice.

Salmwang gave the advice during the official closing ceremony of the three weeks Orientation Course for the 1,503 Corps Members registered for the service year at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Awgu near Enugu on Wednesday

Mr Cyprian Otoibhi, the Commandant of  Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Enugu State Command, has urged Nigerians to get committed in promoting safety and security in neighbourhoods and communities.

“The citizens can do this by giving confidential and actionable intelligence information about criminals, criminal activities and unpatriotic engagements to security agencies especially NSCDC officials, “Otoibhi said on Friday.
