It has been weeks of frenzied activities since the government of Anambra state disavowed responsibility for alleged N75 billion bequest of the previous administration. The media (print and online) was stirred considerably and literally brought home to Anambra. Headlines were cast as there were interests. Anchors on TV furthered the histrionics by hosting rebutters of unequal strength to dispute the contentious claim. The disparity in the performance of the two guests on TV (Sir Willie Nwokoye, Governor Willie Obiano’s principal secretary and Mr. Valentine Obienyem, former Governor Peter Obi’s media aide) was tellingly stark.

On the 14^th day of November, 2015, the government of Anambra state debunked the long-held opinion that ex-governor Peter Obi left a legacy of N75 billion for the government of Chief Willie Obiano. By this clarification the government has put a lie to media reports both in the print and online that Anambra was financially stable as at 17^th March, 2014 on account of this money. Echoes of this humongous bequeathal have been heard in hallowed and ordinary places. Even some respected columnists have expressed similar sentiments.

Nigeria to prosecute T.B. Joshua, others over death of 116 persons in church building collapse

The trustees of ‎Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) will on Monday (November 30, 2015) be arraigned before a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja over the collapse of a six-story building in the church on September 12, 2014, which led to the death of 116 persons.

Senior Pastor of the church, Prophet T.B Joshua is one of the trustees.





The trustees will be arraigned before Justice Lawal Akapo alongside the engineers who constructed the collapsed building.

 There were strong indications on Wednesday that the campaign organisation of the late Kogi State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Abubakar Audu, was preparing a ground for the emergence of the deceased’s son, Mohammed, as a replacement for his father.
Audu died on Sunday, a few hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the November 21 governorship poll in the state inconclusive.

Protesters to target Chicago shopping area on Black Friday

Small groups of demonstrators gathered throughout the day Wednesday to protest the death of a black teen shot 16 times by a white police officer, and they urged supporters to join them in trying to shut down Chicago's famous Michigan Avenue shopping district during the Black Friday shopping bonanza.

  It was a tale that aroused curiosity each time it was told. Catholic faithful in Umuchu town in Aguata local government of Anambra State, southeast Nigeria, have been thrown into mourning after their priest slumped on the church altar and died while celebrating mass.
The priest, Rev Father Emmanuel Idika, slumped at Our Lady of Fatima parish in Umuchu while he was conducting mass.
