The First Lady of Anambra State, Chief (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano has called on Ndi Anambra, especially the wealthy and people of goodwill, to devote some time and part of their resources to caring and helping the less privileged members of the society, particularly, the physically challenged in order to assist them in conquering their challenges. Mrs Obiano made the call last Sunday evening during a special birthday party for physically challenged persons at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

Gov. Obiano urges pharmacists to shift attention on rural services

Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra has tasked pharmacists in the country to redirect their attention to rural areas and help monitor the activities of quack medicine dealers.
Obiano made the call while declaring open the 23rd Anambra Annual Conference of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) in Awka on Thursday.
The theme of the conference is “Public Health – The Role of the Pharmacist”.
Obiano, who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Primary Healthcare, Dr Chioma Ezenyimulu, said that the activities of quacks medicine dealers had done more harm than good.
“Effective monitoring of quack medicine dealers especially the traditional and patent medicine dealers could reduce the dangers posed on the people in hinterland areas,” he said.

Justice Isah Gafai of the Federal High, Awka has fixed judgment without date a suit seeking to disqualify and nullify Gov. Willie Obiano’s election over alleged submission of false voter’s card.
Mr Jezie Ekejiuba, a Human Rights lawyer filed the suit which came up for adoption of written addresses by parties at the court in Awka on Thursday.
Ekejiuba argued during the court’s sitting that Obiano had allegedly submitted false voter’s card in his Form CF 001 sworn affidavit.
