Iranian woman Reyhaneh Jabbari hanged over murder

woman Reyhaneh Jabbari has been executed inside a prison near the capital Tehran after she was convicted of murdering a man in a criminal case seven years ago.
Reyhaneh was hanged in the early hours of Saturday after being found guilty of killing Morteza Abdolali Sarbandi in July 2007.

An apex leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Imo State, Chief Martin Agbaso Fridayformally defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, declaring APGA as being dead in the state.

This is even as Agbaso passionately pleaded with the people of the state to forgive him for the mistake he made in giving them Owelle Rochas Okorocha, a man he did not know very well, as the state governor in 2011.

South Africa returns seized $15m to Nigeria

The South African Ambassador to Nigeria, Lulu Mnguni, said in a news conference on Friday that the $15m earlier seized from some Nigerians by the South African Government had been released to Nigeria.

The South African Government had, on September 5, 2014, seized $9.3m cash belonging to Nigeria and a month later seized another $5.7m, claiming that both funds were to be used for illegal purchase of arms, www.thecable.ng reported.
