IBB, Kalu In Closed-door Meeting On National Issues

The former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and former governor of Abia State, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu yesterday engaged in a closed-door meeting that the former said bordered on the insecurity in the country.
It was learnt that the visit of the former Abia governor who had earlier visited Niger State governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, could not be divorced from 2015.
He, however, said “My visit is about Nigeria. This is my home and there is no way I can sit with him without discussing about the future of Nigeria. This is our country and he is our boss.”
Kalu, who did not concede that the 2015 general election was part of the issues discussed, said all that was discussed was for the future of Nigeria and the people.
Speaking to journalists who waited for the two hours that the meeting lasted, Kalu, accompanied by IBB who refused to talk, said he had a heart-to-heart talk with him on the way to end the nationwide insecurity.

“This is my home and I am always here. I always come to seek advice and have a talk with him (Babangida) on issues that matter a lot. I came here to discuss the level of insecurity in our country. It is a thing of national concern to all of us,” he declared.
“General Babangida is a past president and you know that wisdom is not something you can buy in the market. I cannot tell you the things I discussed with him. But he will take back what we discussed to the president, ministers and security agencies. He will share them with so many people”, he said.
He stated that contrary to the insinuations that the killings in the North-East were targeted at the Igbos, he said the killings affect all and should not be viewed as an attack on any group but on all Nigerians.
“The killings are not about the Igbos. Remember I told you people when it started. It started with the Igbos, after that, Christians became the target. Now they are after Muslims. Now they are after everybody. It is no longer about Igbos, Christians or Muslims. We are all involved”. via LEADERSHIP
