Nyanya Bomb: Blast Mastermind Found In Sudan

The alleged mastermind of the April 14 Nyanya bomb blast, Aminu Sadik Ogwuche, has escaped to Sudan.
Following this development, Interpol has issued a red alert for the search and arrest of the suspect, who was once arrested on suspicion of terrorism but released upon pressure from his father and the human rights community.Deputy Director, Public Relations at the State Security Services, Marylyn Ogar, disclosed this at a press conference addressed by Director General of National Orientation Agency, Mr. Mike Omeri, Director of Defence Information, Maj.-Gen. Chris Olukolade and Police Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Frank Mbah, in Abuja on Tuesday.
Ogar said it was when the father of the suspect was asked to produce his son and he couldn’t that it was learnt that the wanted man had escaped to Sudan.
Omeri said this development led the National Office of Interpol to issue an international red alert on Ogwuche and appealed to Nigerians, especially religious bodies, to be mindful of what their members say on the current security crisis.
He said, “The government of Nigerian wants to commend all Nigerians for the support and understanding shown since the government began this operation to restore peace and normalcy to some parts of this country.
“Particularly, the government wishes to commend the action of some elders in some parts of the North who have condemned the evil activities of the Boko Haram sect which Nigerians and people of conscience and civilisation all over the world have condemned in strong terms. We are encouraged that with many more Nigerians joining this campaign, we will overcome this situation.
“Yesterday, the SSS paraded some suspects concerning the Nyanya bombing. Two of the suspects were declared wanted. As of today, following the efforts of our security personnel, some suspects have been arrested.”
He continued, “These suspects have made useful confessions which will help law enforcement agents in their search. At the appropriate time, those confessions will be made public.
