Clergy Charges Parents On Child Trainning

By Abuchi Ifesinachi
The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has charged parents to train their children in the way of the Lord for them to be properly equipped to face challenges in life.
Bishop Ezeokafor gave the charge while dedicating Paschal Abuchi Onwumelu, the child of his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Abuchi Onwumelu, at the Retreat and Pastoral Centre Okpuno, Awka South Council Area.
According to the Bishop, children trained with the fear of the Lord and hard work will have the courage to face challenging situations in life, instead of running away from them
He reminded them of the need to monitor their children closely to be able to detect when they deviate from the teachings they gave them.
The Prelate advised students to study very hard as their performance in academics would determine what they would be in future noting that he who failed to plan, planned to fail.
Bishop Ezeokafor frowned at the attitude of some students who while away their time and waste their parents’ resources, warning them of the impending danger in future, if they do not retrace their steps.
In a remark, the Diocesan Director of Social Communications, Very Rev. Msgr. Jerome Ndubuisi Madueke commended the Bishop for his fatherly love and prayed God to continue to bless and protect him.
Highpoints of the occasion were dedication of Paschal Abuchi to God, prayers and blessing of a new car bought by Mr. Abuchi Onwumelu.
