The All Progressives Congress (APC) Local government congress in Anambra state witness a near peaceful exercise, where places visit recorded large turnout of party faithfuls, where few LGs are yet to conduct theirs.
Impressive turnout of supporters who came out to cast their votes for delegates of their choice at the local government levels negate the reported issues raised in the last ward congress exercise in Anambra state.
While some stakeholders spoken with threatened boycott of the exercise as a protest mark to the outcome of the last Ward congress that was described as inconclusive.
A visit to Idemili South local government area of Anambra state at the Ojoto village square, the exercise which started at the early of Saturday, produced Sunday Nwoyeka as chairman, Uche Ibeabuchi as secretary and Anai Okechukwu emerged as the local government youth leader, the exercise was supervised by Azubuike Godwin and three others as the Independent National Electoral commission INEC officials for the congress .
At Idemili North, Umunbo hall in Uke community, had 384 delegates that participated in the congress that produced Linus Okafor as chairman, Igwebuike Nwakwo as Secretary , Nwakor Madulka as youth leader and Honurable Chris Udeze was the party electopral officer who supervised the exercise.
Speaking with the leader of the party in Anambra state, Senator Chris Ngige disclosed that the same report was gotten in all the local governments in Anambra state
The Nigeria Minister of Labour and Employment clear the air on the position of the inconclusive nature of last week ward congress that led to a near fiasco at a stakeholders meeting in Awka, he said the issue associated with the ward congress has been ratified and the delegates from the exercise were the one that participated in the LG congress .
The places monitored in the Anambra local government congress by our correspondent, in the APC LG congress recorded impressive turn out of party supporters who came out enmasse to vote for LG executives at their different local government areas of Anambra state .
But few of places like Awka North and South do not have presence of APC officials to conduct the congress but witness similar large turnout of supporters waiting for official to carry out the exercise at the time of filling this report.
Issues about the alleged inconclusive nature of the last Ward congress that made some stakeholders to boycott the exercise seems to have been laid to rest, counting on the position painted by the leader of APC in Anambra state, Senator Chris Ngige, while the coast for having a peaceful state congress next week is expected to record same in Anambra state .
