Sokoto Rising Insecurity :Tambuwal, Sultan, Former Governors Convene Stakeholders Security Meeting



A stakeholders security meeting has been convened in Sokoto state  following th: Sokoto e rising cases of Banditry attacks and other security breaches in the state.


The meeting was convened by the state governor Aminu Tambuwal with participants drawn from  political leaders, traditional and religious  rulers, heads of security agencies and other relevant stakerholders.


Former governors of the state and their deputies were all invited as well as members of the national and state legislators were all part of the meeting.


Addressing the gathering, Sokoto state governor Aminu Tambuwal call all participants to make valuable contributions  and reveal to the gathering every information at their disposal to help in finding a lasting solution to the security challenges facing the state. 


The Eastern Senatorial district of Sokoto state have been facing heightened security threat of banditry attacks, kidnap for ransom, cattle rustling and arson that has led to the destruction of lives and property worth millions of naira  as well as displacing many communities.


In attendance at the meeting is the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar and  the eighty six districts head in Sokoto 


Former Sokoto state Governors Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, Aliyu Magatakar Wamakkoare also present at the meeting with  the former Deputy governor of the state Ahmad Muhammad Gusau were all present in the meeting.
