A Non Governmental Organisation, MacRose Pleasant Humanitarian Foundation, has commenced plans to hold its second health Outreach in Anambra State.
The Foundation with the motto: Helping The Less Privileged, was founded in July 2024, and held its first medical outreach in April this year, where it offered treatment to about 400 people with various ailments.
The first medical outreach was held April at Egbema Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State where beneficiaries were treated of various ailments, and gathered accolades from beneficiaries and members of the clergy.
As the foundation sets to mark it's one year of existence, the founder, Mr Jeremiah Ifediniru who spoke to journalists said his desire to found the organisation was borne out of the need to reach out to the needy. He said he derives joy in helping the needy.
"I'm happy that this came to pass because it has been my desire since I was a kid."
The founder said the foundation has no political undertone, but just put together to ensure that people who cannot access medical healthcare are given the opportunity to receive free treatment.
The first outreach in April which was a successful outing was achieved through the assemblage of a team of health experts, including medical doctors, pharmacists, medical laboratory scientists and others, through the help of the founder, leading to the a massive outcome.
During the event, the visibly elated beneficiaries took time to pray for the founder and other members of the team.
General Manager of the foundation, Mrs Uju Oziga said the beneficiaries were treated of various ailments including chronic hypertension, eye diseases, among others.
She said: "It is a pity that most people are suffering from ailments and are not even aware of it, even those who know of their ailments will just be managing themselves and still live with it because they do not have money for medicals."
As the foundation prepares to mark its one year anniversary, Oziga who spoke with journalists said: "We prepare to enlarge our coast and ensure greater number of people are reached as we go into our second year of existence.
"We will hold medical outreaches as many times as our pocket can carry, we will also be visiting orphanages to provide succour to as many people as possible. We are only calling on other well to do individuals to support what our founder in doing with this foundation."
