The Commissioner for Environment Anambra State, Engr Dr Felix Odumegwu, has described Anambra State as the erosion capital of Africa, even as he announced that there are over 1,000 active erosion sites in the state.
The Environment Commissioner who disclosed this at his office in Awka during a press briefing in preparation for this year's World Earth Day Celebration billed to hold on Saturday, 22nd April 2023 at Prof Dora Akunyili Women's Development Centre, Awka said that the ministry and environmental experts would used the opportunity to speak to Ndi on how best to tackle the erosion menace devastating the state as well as inculcate in them the culture of tree planting.
