The newly elected chairman of Anambra Football Association, Chief Ifeanyi Uba said he is poised to restore the lost glory of the state football club to meet up with international standard of footballing competitions.
He said the renewed call that made people of the state across the globe asking him to restore the lost glory was borne of the fact that the magic he played with the defunct Gabros FC, whose status was a division three football FC, now Ifeanyi Uba FC ranked among the best in the country;s premiership league was expected to be replicated in the Anambra state football Club.
Speaking to journalists, shortly after having a two hour closed door meeting with the executive governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano, Dr. Ifeanyi Uba assured of his promise to assert necessary effort to ensure the state football club regains its lost glory.
The embattled state FA chairman debunked the rumour that the election that brought him into power was marred with irregularities, called on the aggrieved parties to join the winning fold to revive the dying footballing spirit of Anambra state.
He maintained that his commitment to lift the state football club to rank better than other states in the federation and forced them to identify with the catch them young spirit to grow grassroots football to an international height is worth replicated amongst states of the country.
'I just want everybody to know that the first scheme coming is football made in Anambra, its a scheme that I think will shake the entire nation to know that football is made in Anambra'. he said.
In a related development, the defeated candidate ogovernorst concluded Anambra FA election, Chief Olisa Aniuno has called for the cancellation of the entire exercise, alleging complicity on the part of the national body for double standard.
He said he and his delegates have petitioned the national football association and the minister of sports to investigate the scenario and restore the people's hope in true free and fair contest to produce the authentic chairman and executives for the Anambra state football association.
