The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra says it has not anointed any candidate for the governorship election billed to hold in the state in November 2017.
The state Chairman of APC, Mr Emeka Ibe, told newsmen on Tuesday on the side line of a stakeholders’ meeting of the party executive with governorship aspirants under the platform.
Ibe, who assured all the governorship aspirants of a level playing ground during the political party primaries, said APC was committed to transparency and fairness.

Addressing newsmen after the stakeholders meeting in Awka, Ibe said the party was not ready to patronise the era of political statesmanship where some aspirants would be decorated with the party flags without having the votes of the party delegates in the party primaries .
He said APC has learnt some lessons other mega party had and would not want to enmeshed itself in should political hand-picking of candidates for an election .
In their separate comments, the stakeholders at the meeting espoused the party position to win the November 2017 election.
They debunked the insinuation by many ascribing APC to non Igbo party, said the people of the south eastern part of Nigeria are however advised to ignore such political statement, according to them would distance the zone from active participants on matter that affect the national projects .
Our correspondent reports that about ten aspirants have indicated interest to run for the office of governor under the APC, having 6 aspirants are from the Anambra south, two from the Central with Anambra North has 2 aspirants for far.
