Ngige told newsmen in Awka on Thursday that his prediction was based on facts and surveys conducted by independent surveyors.
Ngige, who is the Coordinator of General Muhammed Buhari Presidential Campaign in the South-East, said that following the prediction, APC would form the next government at the centre.
“Our party will win in 28 states in the first ballot; we have done everything humanly possible to educate our people to follow this change.
“We have done very well in making the people believe in APC despite the vilification by the PDP,” he said.He explained that the APC presidential candidate campaign in the South-East would start in the zone on January 10 and would end with a rally in Oweri on January 12.
“Our campaign is issue-based as we are championing for change that will affect the lives of the people of the country; we will address the issue of security, welfare and the economy,” he said.
He, however, said that the Igbos were pushing themselves into marginalisation as “they were not playing good politics.”
According to him, Igbo play bad politics by putting all their eggs in one basket and that is why they lost in APC.
“Unless there is a decisive decision by the Igbo merchants and oil traders to participate in Nigerian politics, the people will continue to be marginalised,” he said.
Ngige, who is re-contesting the February 14 senatorial election for the Anambra Central Senatorial District, said that he had achieved a lot to merit another tenure.
In a related development, Kano State governorship candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has said that the party is a promoter of peace, stressing that nothing would prevent the party from ensuring the conduct of a free and fair election in the state.
This is just as vice chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Isaac Bello, attributed the mass exodus of the people from various parts of the country to the ongoing propaganda and inflammatory remarks of some aggressive politicians.
The deputy governor, who was represented by his running mate, Professor Hafiz Abubakar, made the observation on Thursday in Kano, disclosing that the state government was inspired by the effort of the Commissioner of Police, Mr Aderenle Shinaba, in taking the gauntlet to make Kano a bastion of peace, noting that what was most needed was synergy between the two camps.
The business of maintaining law and order is the sole responsibility of the police, just as he also expressed optimism that the tempo would be sustained in the interest of the country’s nascent democracy.
