Obaze The group said the designated running mate expected to be unveiled today was not a card-carrying member of the party. Coordinator of the group, Pastor Emma Obiorah, who argued that the choice might affect the chances of PDP in the November 18 poll, urged the National Working Committee (NWC), the National Executive Council (NEC) and the state caretaker committee of the party to reverse the alleged imposition or be prepared to face the wrath of the
grassroots members of the party. According to Obiorah, members of PDP in the state would not allow a cabal to hijack PDP again in the state. He said: “We are giving the NWC and the state caretaker committee one week to reverse this decision on the position of Obaze’s deputy, whose name had already been forwarded to the INEC and if they fail to heed the call, the masses will be left with no other option than to take any decision that suits them.” The group said the woman being allegedly imposed on the party was not known in the state, except that her father was an influential in PDP. “We have accepted Obaze, but we require a card-carrying member of the party to be his deputy for the contest. We also want someone who is equally known in the state, if the stakeholders really want the grass roots to support the party,” the group said.
