The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Anambra commend said it has instituted a frontal attack to tackle the issue drug abuse in the state .
It expresses regret over the rising spate of illicit drug abuse among the youths, reveals that the command has unearth the proliferation of dangerous drug known as meant among children of youth ages in the state.

The Anambra state commandant of NDLEA, Sule Momodu made this public while on advocacy visit to the Secretary to Anambra state government Professor Solomon Chukwulobelum, to drum up support on the work of the state Drug Control Committee.

The NDLEA State commander solicits for inter-ministerial support of the state executive council and traditional institutions to observe actions of their youths and report same, if any are culpable of taken illicit drug in their localities.
While expressing the views of the state government to support the agency in ensuring the issue of ‘meant inhaling’ in stamp out among the youths, the Secretary to the state government promised to collaborate with the agency, stating necessary documentation is expected from the committee to be transmitted to the state government for onward action taken.
 The Anambra state command of the NDLEA had raided some communities in Awka North, where the youths were alleged to have been engaging in the use of ‘’meant inhaling’’, which was reported to have contributed to the increase crime incidents  as a result of the drug abuse.

The Agency vows to go after the vendors of the deadly drug and reduce the drug abuse and trafficking in Anambra state .
