APGA Solidarity Movement Blasts Honourable Ekwunife For Defecting To PDP

A Political Group, APGA Solidarity Movement (ASM), yesterday blasts the lawmaker representing  Anaocha/ Dunukofia/ Njikoka Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Uche Ekwunife, who last week defected from the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Hon. Ekwunife and other Federal lawmakers including the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Capital Market, Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu and three others elected on the platform of APGA from Anambra State, cross-carpeted to PDP, even as Ekwunife was quoted as saying that, her defection was because APGA never offered her an opportunity to improve the lives of her constituents.

The National President, APGA Solidarity Movement, Hon. Ebere Okafor, in his speech yesterday at Isu-Aniocha in Awka North Local government Area of Anambra state, during the inauguration of the group in the area, described the mass defection of lawmakers to PDP as a decision based on pecuniary interest and called on the Party leadership to put in place a measure to forestall future occurrence.

He accused Ekwunife and his team of defectors of asking for automatic ticket in APGA which he described as, “an aberration and undemocratic. The era has gone when politicians offer cash to induce stalwarts or facilitate this type of political dirty deal to arm-twist the party to grant automatic ticket.

“We therefore enjoin the co-travelers headed by Hon. Uche Ekwunife to retrace their step which is purely believed to have based on pecuniary interest” he said.
